Houston-based MEP engineering firm is looking for a full-time Electrical Engineer / Sr. Electrical Designer to join their team. 

If you enjoy designing electrical systems for healthcare, research laboratory, education, and commercial facilities, this is a great opportunity for you to work on some of the leading projects in the Texas Medical Center. 

What you'll do:

• Design and draft electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, emergency and standby power, and fire alarm systems.

• Produce and manage electrical construction documents in Revit, including drawings, panel schedules, one-line diagrams, load calculations, and specifications, from schematic design through issue for construction.

• Coordinate closely with E&C's mechanical and plumbing engineers, architects, and owners' representatives to integrate electrical systems into a clash-free BIM model and a buildable design.

• Support construction administration by reviewing submittals, answering RFIs, conducting site visits and field observations, and preparing punch lists.

• Perform field surveys and existing-conditions assessments for renovation, facility assessment, and investigative consulting projects.

• Work directly with the firm principals on client relationships, project delivery, and mentoring junior designers and EITs.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of electrical engineering experience 

• Strong Revit/BIM proficiency

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

• Healthcare and research-lab MEP work experience preferred

• PE license preferred, but not required

• Strong attention to detail

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to manage time and meet deadlines
